i have a baby iguana he is maybe a year old.and when i first got him he was the sweetest thing ever he would fall asleep on my bfs hand and be calm.fot he past week hes been trying to whip us with his tail and bite us.when hes in the cage he darts back and forth me and my boyfriend thought he wanted to come out but when ever we went to go get him out he tryed to attck us. the today he had opened his eyes becasue i got him or her i dont know is its a he or she yet to calm down and get relaxed and his eyes looked like the eye sockets were swollen with in a matter of minnutes a bunch of like brownish blach stuff started coming out of his eyes and like little peices of branch we gave him/her branches from outside but when he pushed it out i took it out and he wouldnt open his eyes..when it came of of his eyes it looked like one of those gooy balls that when you squeese it the eye balls pop out i need help im scarde for him.her please help

well it is a reptile... i wish i had one of those im afraid if i did my dogs would eat it ... one of em ate my bird.... anyways yaa im sorry i never had one i have no idea how to take care of it... that sounds bad though...go to vet???? i guess...do vets mess with iguanas?? i guess just call a vet

Take him/her to the vet

some of the branch probably infected his eye. and he probaobly tried to atack you because 1. he thinks your gonna touch his eye or 2. he cant really see so he automaticly takes you as a threat.

If your ig is a year old he/she should be living in an adult size enclosure ... Its best so you dont have to keep building enclosure as your ig grows plus less stress from moving one place to another.

Most likely he/she is becoming too small for the enclosure he/she is in which is showing he/she is unhappy. OR ... he/she is not feeling good cuz well of the eyes Im sure its not comfy feeling.

If you used the compact coil type UVB this may or may not be the reason why he/she is closing the eyes.
