I know it is illegal to have an alligator in california and dont give me crap about it because it isnt my pet its his and he has a big pond and yard for it...this is just a question so answer it and you will be granted best answer.

The question is if it ships to me in california how would it get here to california if the pet owner agreed to ship it? wont ups know whats in the box? If you can honostly get away with it tell me how you can?

animals are shipped in crates for a reason, for air and to ensure their safe handling. shipped in the regular mail in a box to help conceal that it's an alligator is cruel, it will probably die

Well how they ship it is their problem. What will be your problem is that something illegal is being shipped to your home. Regardless of whom the parcel belongs to, you will be the person who gets caught with the illegal possession leaving you to deal with the police and all the problems that come with breaking the law. So what you really need to think of is how you are going to handle the penalties of breaking the law in California.

And yes UPS will know there's something alive in the box, but they might not mention it seeing as it's not illegal to ship animals properly. Let UPS worry about what's in the box, it's their job. It's yours to receive said box and the consequences of the UPS turning you in.
