I found that my bearded dragon do not eat much during the shedding periods. However after the shedding he got his appetite back. Another possibility is that he is sick. Probably it is best to ask a reptile vet.

Hes stressed out because you have him in a 50 gallon tank. Thats huge for a baby corn snake. If a snake is in a large living environment they feel very vulnerable and nervous. I would really recommend to put him in a 20 or 30 gallon and wait about a year to put him in the 50. This is why he hides when you try to feed him because you are going in his habitat and he sees you as threat right now because hes still has to warm up to your scent. Also DONT FEED IN HIS CAGE. If you are going to handle this snake feed him in a separate tank box tupperware etc.. Feeding a snake in his tank can cause a feeding response and cause them to be more prone to bite. Corn Snakes arent really ones to be known for rejecting food and if you keep having this problem you could try to debrain the mice by cutting the head open and exposing brain matter. This usually will trigger a feeding response in corn snakes. If that doesnt work you could also dip the mice in chicken broth.

you have him in a 50 gallon tank first of all thats too big for a baby corn snake second force feeding doesnt always work because the snake will sometimes regurgitate even if you do force feed them i dont know why snakes do this but sometimes thats their way of telling you they are not hungry wait until he gets settled in that big damn tank you have him in and 3 you are feeding him in the tank you need to take him out the tank and put him in something else like a small to medium plastic shoe box this teaches snakes not to strike you when you open up their cage if you keep feeding him in his tank he will learn to get accustomed to it and learn the only thing he know which is to bite and strike place him in a nice quiet area where he can eat the food to himself in peace corn snakes are shy eaters some dont mind you watching them eat but some dont want you to see them eat at all
