gerbils are diurnal and so will sleep for most of the night.
they arent as noisey as other pets anyways so you wont have to worry about them keeping you up :

Depends...
You first have to keep them entertained throughout the entire say. Take out all the sleeping houses etc. Put lots of cardboard and their wheel in and maybe check in with them every hour or so and play with them. Bring them in the bathroom but close the door and watch where you step
Soon they will start to be tired enough that theyll just sleep during the night. Oh and always take the wheel and carboard out about an hour before you go to bed that way they have some quiet time and time to get their bed ready.
I keep my gerbils in my room and I wont lie I do have some nights where theyre up all night but they will calm down.
Hope I helped
