Hi I have had my Betta fish in room temperature water for three years. I am getting a tropical fish tank soon and dont have enough room for two tanks. Im getting an Eclipse system 12 tank with guppies livebearers and tetras. Can i move my room temperature betta into a tropical tank?

No because the betta will get confused with the guppies because they look similar to the betta and all the male guppies will die. but hey its worth a try.

yes. do the usual transfer like when you get fish in the 1st place use that type of bag and if you havent kept it just ask the dealer/fish shop for a bag and carry on as if you just brought him home.

hope this helps.

I would say no because of the guppies. Usually colorful fish tend to be a threat to bettas. I would get cory cats instead. My betta gets along with them. They are the best tank mates.
