Yes they can absolutely go together but they dont group together and they are territorial even if they are mild for cichlids and all of these fish get pretty big. Aside from issues of space Discus are not tolerant of dirty water and need low stocking levels. Ample space is a must with these cichlids and a 55 just doesnt cut it.
I would not even consider keeping more than one of these species in this tank. It would be a bigger lower stress home for the fish you did choose. A pair of discus would be nice or a small group of angels. Cory cats would do great in either setup.
If you choose discus you can start with a group when they are small. As they grow youll find that two of them pair off. This is a good time to sell off the rest of them and give the pair the tank.
