You might want to move this question to under dogs. What does your dog look like?

by looking at their dogs they do not look like a bulldog. their colorings are wrong. a bulldog should not be black nor most of those colorings. those are considered to be not proper bulldogs. you cant really do much with them if your buying for breeding or showing as they are considered unnacceptable to AKC standards. those also look like mutts or boxers or mixes not bulldogs. the brindles look like our boxer does. so i can tell you its a scam site. they are asking too low of prices to be as good of quality as they claim. but no those dont look like bulldogs. the breeder we bought ours from had minis and they are identical to the standard just a bit smaller.

I bought a "Miniature English Bulldog" from Betty Sweeter/Sweeter Pets in December 2006-- No, my dog, Lucy, definitely does NOT look like a bulldog. After bringing her home, I had many questions about her appearance, and upon asking Betty about it, she repeatedly told me that the puppy was going through a "teenage, lanky stage and would fill out"-- This never happened. Currently, she looks like a beagle with a brindle coat. Almost everyone we meet asks us what breed she is. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my dog and would not change her for the world, however, I would never again buy a dog from Betty Sweeter. She is an irresponsible breeder and after preforming some research on her, I learned that she owns over 100 dogs that she keeps on her property in Foley. I also found out that she was charged and convicted of performing veterinary medicine without a license! In addition to her misrepresentation of the "product" she is selling- my dog had many health problems when she was a puppy that my vet told me is likely due to the poor environment she was born into. Four years later, I am still paying for health issues that resulted from the short amount of time Lucy spent in Betty's care.

Our family made the mistake of spending too much money on one of Betty Sweeter's "Mini Bulldogs". Eli is now two and looks more like a Boston Terrier with a little bit of bulldog. He is a very high energy dog and not can run like lightening and jump high, none of which are English Bulldog traits. As a puppy it was hard to tell that he was not more bulldog and the puppy pictures were deceiving as were the parent pictures on her Sweeter Pets site. Some of the studs and bitches shown in the pictures do not appear to me mixes but are obviously not bred with one another but instead bred to one of the other many breeds she sells. Ironically she still has the same pictures on her site which tells me it is just to sucker us buyers in. When we brought Eli home he had extremely loose stools that persisted. Finally he was diagnosed with a serious bacteria infection that probably came from his mother. The only reason it was diagnosed was because I became extremely ill and could not hold in food and had a high fever for two weeks. The puppy and our family went through weeks of hell being ill. When I discussed this`issue with Betty she tried to say Eli could have gotten the bacteria infection from his puppy food. She offered to pay for his medication...obviously not my medical bills. Eli is a sweet dog, but not what we were looking for, we should have gone to a reputable breeder for a pure bred English Bulldog. We did end up adding a pure bred English Bulldog to our family this fall and one look at the two dogs together kind of makes us laugh...jokes on us I guess...or at least at our expense! Do not buy a dog from Betty Sweeter of Sweeter Pets in Foley, MN.

I briefly looked at getting a boston terrier from Betty Sweeter of Sweeter Pets and I'm so glad that I took the time to do my research. I spoke with her briefly about Boston Terriers. At the time I spoke with her she had atleast two litters that were ready to go, two that would be ready in a couple weeks and two litters that were due in a month. Obviously breeders that raise well socialized, quality dogs don't breed so often. I found so many horror stories from her customers all over the web. There was even an article in the St. Cloud Times that covers the story of a couple that purchased two puppies from her that both had severe heart murmors. Only one dog survived and the couple had to spend $10,000 on vet bills.

I've also found several sources that claim she has around 100 adult dogs. Buying a puppy from her only perpeturates the sad and miserable life these dogs are living and rewards her for her mistreatment of these poor animals. What a disgusting human being.

I wish I had found this website BEFORE I bought my dog from Betty Sweeter. I also have the same situation with our dog. Abby looks just like a Boston Terrier with not quite such "buggy" eyes. She told me the same thing about that she would fill out as she got older. This has never happened! I asked her several times to send me pictures of her parents. She claimed she did but I have never received them. I have learned my lesson the hard way.
