Does anyone have this cross breed? Is it a good mix? Or bad, not too much information easily findable on google.
THANKS
- A dog is a dog and needs a home whether its from a breeder or not, isn't that right, or else it could end up there later? Any links to dogs of this sort will be a help, australian sites only. Also other suggestions for small sized dogs will be appreciated.
I havn't owed my own dog before, I'm 14 so basically I have time after 4 pm and before 8am but not much in mornings, I would probably prefer a dog thats not too hard to train, and has any coat, nothing to complicated to look after though.

A beagle JRT mix will be a high energy dog for sure and likely quite intelligent.
The dog will need a ton of exercise and training. Also, the dog may possibly inherit the beagle's "nose" and therefore you may not ever be able to trust the dog off-leash.

The dog should be around 15 inches tall, or less I would assume.

I do hope you are planning on rescuing rather than purchasing one from a "breeder"

Add: Yes, all dogs need homes. But rescuing one from a shelter is far more beneficial than lining the pockets of some moron who pimps their dogs out for the money.

In order to suggest other breeds, we would need to know more information as to what you are looking for.
What type of coat do you prefer?
How much experience do you have with dogs?
How much time are you willing to spend on exercise?
How much time are you willing to spend on training?
Are you willing to participate in some sort of "sport" with your dog?

etc. etc.

Add: I definitely would not recommend this mix for you in that case. JRTs are rather notorious for being "neurotic" when in the wrong hands. This is due to lack of training and exercise. I would not recommend them for a first time owner.
The beagle portion of the dog could be equally as difficult. Beagles are typically never to be trusted off-leash, and are escape artists. On top of that, they have been labelled "difficult to train" because of their interest in hunting rather than pleasing the owner.
While it is possible to own well trained, and well behaved dogs of either of these breeds, it can take a lot of work.

Maybe a more laid back breed would be more suited for you for the time being?
Such as a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Pug, Bichon Frise, Maltese, Papillon etc.

Well, its a mix. The best you can do it look up both breeds and look at the traits. With a mutt you never know what you are getting.
I hope you are rescuing.

I have a jack russell and beagle and she is a great puppy, she is smart and fast learner. She does like to spent a lot of time outside sniffing the ground but she does listen when I call her name. My puppy is 11 weeks old and just got her spayed last week. She shows no interest in digging and I have no problems with her off lease. She goes to the door to let me know she has to go potty. But she does like lots of exercise and I spend a lot of time with her. They are considered jack a bee's. Type jack a bee's in google search and you find info on the dog. Good luck

Sometimes cross breed dogs are better than a pure breed dog. I have a crossed-breed dog. He is really bright and skillful. For a smaller dogs, I would love to suggest you a chihuahua. I owned one before and it is not hard to teach.

Beagle and Jack Russell are good. They actually called it a Jack-A-Bee and not a purebred dog. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross. You can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed.
