Maybe hes just wanting your father again. And hes flipping out for him.

first off stop rewarding his bad behavior by giving in to his demands. if youre eating something he wants and he starts acting violent do not give him the treat. tell him no and if it continues cover his cage with a large towel or blanket. once hes quiet for a few minutes remove the towel. if he remains quiet for a decent amount of time think about giving him a treat of some sort.
this is my absolute favorite technique for quieting screaming birds. ive done this with more than a few different birds and it works every time. say Im going to get the towel for your cage if youre not quiet. if you follow through eventually all you have to do is say the phrase to get them quiet.
once you get that in place some of his other problems will fall into place. it sounds like he thinks hes in control of the family right now and the towel will nock him down a peg. this isnt to say hell stop his aggressive behavior altogether but then at least youll be able to use the treats as positive reinforcement for good behavior rather than bad.

Birds are very intelligent. And we often underestimate their emotions. Your bird misses your father and has had to deal with his grief on his own. The very fact that he was so young when you got him indicates that he feel misunderstood and not truly wanted by all in your family. I reccomend a new cage and new toys. This will show him his importance to the family still. And he will calmgreatly down. Often a bird will bite first ask questions later type of thing. Do not be alarmed. Though hes biting never act scared of him. And if possible try to pet his head. This will greatly encourage him to behave. And keep all sudden movements around him or his cage to a minimum. Make sure he has a tent to sleep in. And hes actually a parrot not a bird. Big difference there. A good thing to do is go read about conures on the internet big source of info. Ive got a Red Belly Parrot and that means they are about the same size. My parrot has to sorta taste you before he will let me rub his head. Its just just something that most do.

weve had him for almost 20 years. he favored my father and would often bite me my sibilings and mother. our father left us 8 years agoloser and for a while Guess had grown distant but then he attatched to me. He attacks the cage when ever people walk by. he bites so hard that he draws blood. why is my bird so angry? we treat him very well. He will shriek at the top of his lungs for food. not regular bird food but what were eating. with no affect to his health he has eaten fruits veggieswhich i know are healthy for him chicken beef eggs turkey icecream oreossodahe prefers pepsi cereal milk gram crackers cream cheese he loves cheese and chinese food. the problem is that when we dont give him the food that he wants he flips out and acts more violent than he currently is. i dont know why he is so angry weve had him since he was a young bird so why is he so angry? he was never particurlarly nice...how can i make him happy???
