Don't worry... I'm not going to eat my birds (well, maybe I will if I don't get a satisfactory answer to this question!)... I was just wondering how they tasted. So does anyone know the taste of macaws, cockatoos, cockatiels, parakeets, lovebirds, canaries, amazons, African Greys, Lories, conures, quakers, etc.?
They look so beautiful that one must wonder how they taste!
As of now, the only glimmer of hope that I've had for finding out the answer to this question is this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhjjc9IxeLUThis is nothing like asking people how various cat/dog breeds taste.
Humans of nearly every culture DO eat some kinds of birds (chickens, quails, turkeys, etc.) so I was wondering what these tropical birds would taste like.
Cat/dog eating, on the other hand, is something confined to specific cultures.
I just want to know how my birds taste--even if they tasted as good as duck, I'm not going to eat them... it's just an interesting thing to know.
Just because I know human flesh tastes like pork, that doesn't mean I'm going to start eating my fellow citizens if I like pork (
